Viola Marie Dawson
Viola Marie (Pugh) Dawson, age 95 of Minneapolis, and formerly of Howard Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at the Augustana Home, Minneapolis.
Viola was born Aug. 26, 1906, in Howard Lake.
She began working at Northwestern Bell Telephone in Minneapolis at the age of 14, and retired as a supervisor.
After retirement, she volunteered at the Minneapolis Society of The Blind.
She will always be remembered lovingly for her generosity and help to her brothers, sisters, and others during the Depression years.
Viola also loved fishing and traveling with her relatives and friends.
Survivors include her brother, Harold; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Ellsworth; and sisters, Esther Gallup, Verna (Combs) Berthiaume, Gladys Pugh, and Averil Hansen.
A memorial service took place at the Howard Lake Christian Church, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 11 a.m. Interment was at the Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Cokato.
