Marvin E. DiersMarvin E. Diers, age 80 of Waconia, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000. Marvin was born Aug. 26, 1920. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration. During World War II he served in the AAF. His career spanned over 35 years, holding executive positions with Streator Industries, Albert Lea; Pako Corporation, Golden Valley; and Pako Europe, Limerick, Ireland. Marvin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alma (Berge) Diers; a son, William Diers I; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and David Spickett; grandchildren, William II, Jennifer and Rebekah Diers, and Tailor Spickett; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Lois Diers; a niece, Annette Prieve; and nephews, Clark Johnson and Mark, Tim, Paul, and Brian Diers. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Elsie Diers; and a sister, Fern Johnson. A memorial service took place Saturday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Waconia. The service was preceded by a private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
