Mabel L. Dressel

Funeral services were Wednesday, May 10, 2000, for Mabel L. Dressel, age 79, of Waconia. Mabel died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.

Mabel was born May 12, 1920, at Young America Township, Carver County, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Irene (Schmidt) Mesenbring. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, by the Rev. M. F. Abraham, and confirmed by the same March 25, 1934.

On Aug. 21, 1941, Mabel married Harold W. Dressel at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. W. Kramer.

Mabel loved to cook, embroider, and paint. She was a 4-H leader and a Gold Star mother, as well as an honorary member of the Watertown Legion Auxiliary.

While a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mabel belonged to Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Ladies Aid.

Mabel is survived by her husband Harold; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Carol Dressel of St. Bonifacius, and Chuck and Doreen Dressel of Waconia; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Loehrs of Maple Plain, and Carol and Tony Ciavarelli of Lansdale, Penn.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by a sister, Lorna Schmidt of Glencoe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Roma Mesenbring of Norwood Young America, Gordon Mesenbring of Waconia, Orville and Elva Mesenbring of Glencoe, Clara Mesenbring of Waconia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Flora and Emil Meinke of Webster; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, 11:30 a.m., with the Revs. Dean E. Mahlum and Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Watertown Township, Watertown.

Dennis Schmidt, James Mesenbring, Morris Mesenbring, Paul Mesenbring, Edward Schmidt, and Larry Mesenbring served as casketbearers.

Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
