Jerome "Jeff" Ellefson
Jerome "Jeff" Ellefson, age 64 of Booneville, Iowa, and formerly of Howard Lake, died of cancer Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Kavanagh House on 56th.
Jeff was born in Pipestone, Minn. He served in the U. S. Navy.
A 10-year resident of Booneville, Jeff worked in auto body repair for many years, and was also employed as a salesman for ultralight aircraft.
He was a member of the Central Iowa Flyers Club and the Experimental Aviation Association.
Survivors include his daughters, Cindy Ellefson-Martz (husband, Rick) of Wakonda, S.D.; and Colleen Elliott (husband, Greg) of LaConea, N.H.; his mother, Eleanor Ellefson, Coon Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren: Jeff, Eric, Tricia, Meghan, and Bo; and two great-grandchildren, Mecah and Macey.
Jeff is further survived by brothers, Ron Ellefson (wife, Connie) of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Bob Ellefson (wife, Dorly) of DeSoto, Iowa; sisters: Pat VanBenschoten (husband, Jerry) of Howard Lake, LeeAnn Jorgenson (husband, David) of Rochester, Minn.; Nancy Corpe of Coon Rapids, Minn.; Lois Ellefson of DeSoto, Iowa; and Ruth Lindstrom (husband, Paul) of Sturgis, S.D.; five nephews, five nieces; and special friends, Roger Doughtery and family.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 28, 2:30 p.m., at Assured Care Chapel, Ankeny, Iowa; with cremation at a later date. Visitation was held for one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th. Arrangements were handled by Cremation Society of Iowa.
