Linus W. Fasching
Linus W. Fasching, age 76 of Winsted and formerly of Mound, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at St. Mary's Care Center, Winsted.
Linus was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the son of Andrew A. and Mary Otto Fasching.
On June 26, 1945, Linus was joined in holy marriage to Evangeline E. Bettcher at the rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted.
Following their marriage, Linus and Evangeline engaged in farming on the Fasching family homestead in Winsted Township. Evangeline preceded her husband in death Dec. 28, 1999.
Linus was a former machinist at both J.R. Clark of Spring Park and Precision Gasket of Hopkins.
He was a former faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mound.
Survivors include a brother, Edward and (Monica) Fasching of Chaska; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Violet Tonn of Lester Prairie, Derrolla Fasching of Winsted, Juergen (Grace) Bettcher of New Germany, Della (Norman) Van Stender, Florence Klaustermeier, and Ewald (Dorothy) Bettcher Jr., all of Lester Prairie; Carol Adams of Chaska, and Betty (Gene) Miller of Cologne.
In addition to his beloved wife Evangeline, Linus was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew A. and Mary Fasching; sisters, Hilda Hausladen and Florentine Bickman; brothers, Isidore "Spoke" Fasching and Daniel Fasching; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edwin "Peanuts" Hausladen, Bernard "Ben" Bickman, Elderine Campbell Fasching, Dathel Hess Fasching, Eunice Wainwright, Victor Bettcher, Theodore Tonn, William Fasching, Victor Klaustermeier and Vernon Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Feb. 3, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the Mass. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, on Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Paul Fasching, Ken Bayerl, Bruce Hertzog, David Bickman, Douglas Bettcher, and Ewald Bettcher Jr. served as the casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
