Herman M. Fasching
Herman M. Fasching, age 94 of Maple Lake, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, due to complications from pneumonia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Jan. 8, 10 a.m., at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. The Rev. M. J. McGlauchlin will be the celebrant.
Herman was born in Winsted on April 29, 1905, one of 13 children born to Michael and Elizabeth (Brose) Fasching.
On Nov. 22, 1926, Herman married Anna Wessling at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, and they made their home on a farm in Albion Township.
After farming for many years, Herman was employed by Albion Township for road maintenance. During recent years, he lived in the Minneapolis area to be closer to his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Anna; granddaughter, Kim Fasching; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Lender.
Herman is survived by his children: Hermena Latour of Minneapolis; Marylis Boyden of Greenfield, Mass.; Herman (Carol) Fasching Jr., of Minneapolis; Mary Ann (Don) Knott of Minnetonka; Michael (Carol) Fasching of Plymouth; Jane Lender of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Isabelle Brose and Rose Otto, both of Winsted.
The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, served the family.
