Evangeline E. Fasching
Evangeline E. Fasching, age 75 of Winsted, and formerly of Mound, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at the Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Evangeline was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of Ewald and Fernadena Terlinden Bettcher.
She was baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, Oct. 26, 1924. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, April 10, 1938. Her confirmation memory verse was Revelation 3:11.
On June 26, 1945, Evangeline was joined in holy marriage to Linus W. Fasching at the rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted.
She was a former faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mound.
Evangeline was employed at Tonka Toys for 29 years.
She is survived by her husband Linus; sisters and brothers: Violet Tonn of Lester Prairie, Derrolla Fasching of Winsted, Juergen (Grace) Bettcher of New Germany, Della (Norman) Van Stender, Florence Klaustermeier and Ewald (Dorothy) Bettcher Jr., all of Lester Prairie; Carol Adams of Chaska and Betty (Gene) Miller of Cologne.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eunice Wainwright; a brother, Victor Bettcher; and by brothers-in-law, Theodore Tonn, William Fasching, Victor Klaustermeier and Vernon Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Dec. 31, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the Mass.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, on Thursday, Dec. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Allen Klaustermeier, Roger Fasching, Ricky Adams, Douglas Bettcher, John Bettcher and Richard Scott served as casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
