Henry J. “Hank” Fiecke obituary, 6/9/2000


Henry J. “Hank” Fiecke, age 78 of Winsted, died
Friday, June 9, 2000, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Hank was born in Mayer, Minn. April 20, 1922, the son of
Joseph and Anna (Kieser) Fiecke.
On Oct. 3, 1944, Henry and Eleanor Lewandowski were joined
in holy marriage at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Silver Lake. God blessed
their marriage with five children.
Henry engaged in dairy farming, east of Winsted, for many
years, before moving into the city of Winsted in 1972. He also worked for
11 years at Millerbernd Manufacturing Co.
A life member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Henry was
also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #8253, American Legion Post
#407, and Holy Family Council # 204.
Henry enjoyed playing cards and ice fishing.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor; children: Rita (Bob)
Lindquist of Buffalo, Jerry (Nancy) Fiecke of Watertown, Diane (Joe) Bokusky
of Montrose and David Fiecke of Winsted; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Fiecke
of Winsted; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Henry is further survived by brothers, Eugene (Leona) Fiecke
of Lester Prairie, Alphonse (Rose) Fiecke of Winsted, Joseph Fiecke of Tacoma,
Wash.; Clemens (Agnes) Fiecke of Silver Lake, and Francis (Joan) of Winsted;
sisters, Leona Lewandowski of Silver Lake and Loretta Thiesen of Winsted;
mother-in-law Peggy Lewandowski of Howard Lake; and many other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Fiecke in 1999;
a grandson, John Fiecke; parents, Joseph and Anna Fiecke; sisters, Mary
Rohling and Agnes Horstmann; a brother, Ben Fiecke; and his father-in-law,
Peter Lewandowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, June 12, 10:30 a.m.,
at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Paul L. Wolf as
the celebrant. Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the service. Gift bearers
were Cassi and Jill Fiecke. Interment with military rites followed at the
church cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, June 11, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the
Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, with a Holy Family Council rosary recited
at 4:30 p.m., followed by a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. An American
Legion prayer service took place at 7 p.m., and a Knights of Columbus rosary
was recited at 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Cory Fiecke, Joey Fiecke, Brian Ardolf,
Jeremy Bokusky, Steve Fiecke and Pauly Fiecke.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
