Clemens A. Fiecke
Clemens A. Fiecke, age 71 of rural Silver Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Clemens was born March 1, 1929, in Hollywood Township, Carver County, the son of Joseph and Anna (Kieser) Fiecke.
On June 6, 1953, Clemens and Agnes Anne Rozeske were joined in holy marriage at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Silver Lake. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Clemens honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, from 1951-1953.
He engaged in dairy farming in Hale Township, McLeod County, for many years. He also worked at Advance Machine from 1966-1969.
Clemens was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. He was a member of American Legion Post 407 and a former Legion historian. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 8253, and to the Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court 1054.
Among his many enjoyments were fishing and camping with family and friends. He also enjoyed music festivals and gardening.
Clemens is survived by his wife Agnes Anne; his children, Thomas Fiecke of Silver Lake, Stephen (Pam) Fiecke of Winsted, and Sharon (Paul) Schultz of Silver Lake; grandchildren: Jenny and Stacey Fiecke; Jason, Ryan, Brandon and Krystal Fiecke; and Kasey, Kyle, Shannon and Briana Schultz; and a great-granddaughter, Nicole Fiecke.
He is further survived by brothers, Eugene (Leona) Fiecke of Lester Prairie, Alphonse (Rose) Fiecke of Winsted, Joseph Fiecke of Tacoma, Wash.; and Francis (Joan) Fiecke of Winsted; sisters, Leona (Albin) Lewandowski of Silver Lake, and Loretta Thiesen of Winsted; sisters-in-law, Margaret Mickolichek and Ann Fiecke, both of Silver Lake, and Eleanor Fiecke of Buffalo; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Clemens was preceded in death by a son, Edward Fiecke, in 1977; a grandson, Timothy Fiecke, in 1976; parents; brothers, Ben and Henry Fiecke; sisters, Mary Rohling and Agnes Horstmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Stella Rozeske; and brothers-in-law, Floyd Micko-lichek, Albert Rohling, John Horstmann and Ray Thiesen
A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and interment with military rites followed at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Reader for the Mass was Bev Hoffmann. Gift bearers were Kyle Schultz, Shannon Schultz and Briana Schultz. Servers were Krystal Fiecke, Stephanie Fiecke and Jessica Fiecke. Kasey Schultz, Jenny Fiecke and Stacey Fiecke told a special story about Grandpa.
Casket bearers were Jason Fiecke, Ryan Fiecke, Brandon Fiecke, Paul Fiecke, Alan Mickolichek and John Thiesen.
Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, with a Legion Memorial Service at 7 p.m., a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and a combined Knights of Columbus and Foresters rosary at 8 p.m.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
