Susan Marie Getz
Susan Marie Getz, age 50 of Winsted, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
Susan was born July 13, 1950 in Canby, the daughter of Andrew J. and Florence V. (Fairchild) Eischens.
She graduated from Waconia High School in 1968.
On April 23, 1971, Susan and Raymond Getz were joined in holy marriage at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Through the years, Susan was employed at Tom Thumb, G & K Grocery store and Edco Products, all in Winsted.
She was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, and taught CCD for several years. She also belonged to Holy Trinity's Council of Catholic Women (CCW).
Susan is survived by her husband, Ray Getz; children: Christopher (Renee) Getz of Blomkest; Rachel Getz of Winsted, and fiance Samuel Dolly; and Melissa Getz of Winsted, and special friend Nathan Baumann; a grandson, Noah Getz; and a future grandchild due Nov. 4.
She is further survived by her parents, Andrew J. and Florence Eischens of Waconia; brother and sisters, Jane (Mark) Anderson of Eden Prairie, David (Linda) Eischens of Norwood Young America, Barbara Hoen of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Rockvan of Waconia, Betty (Rick) James of Minnetonka and Andrea (Dean) VanDerostyne of Canby; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon Eischens-Krill of Chanhassen; Barb (Tom) Brummer of Montrose and Linda (Charles) Getz-Richardson of Crescent City, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Eischens; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Marie Getz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Oct. 4, 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church,Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Organist was Lavon Kielkucki. A private family interment took place at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Honorary casket bearers were Noah Getz, Ben James and Austin Richardson. Active casket bearers were Brian Call, Chad Eishens, Jeff Eischens, Steve Eischens, Trevor Brummer and John Erickson.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
