William Lyle (Bill) Hagen
William Lyle (Bill) Hagen, age 65 of McGregor, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at Miller Dwan Hospital, Duluth.
Bill was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Marcell, Minn. He moved as a young boy with his family to McGregor, where he attended Bell Horn Bay School. He graduated from McGregor High School in 1954.
After graduation, he moved to Winsted, where he worked for K-Way Express as a truck driver. He also managed the Winsted Airport for nearly 20 years.
In addition, Bill worked as a projectionist for the theaters in Tamarack, McGregor, and Aitkin. After his retirement, he lived in Shamrock Township and was a grader operator for Turner Township.
Bill is survived by a son, Roy Hagen of Winsted; Roy's fiancee, Pam Kantor, also of Winsted; three grandchildren: Shawn Hagen, Brandis Hagen, and Heidi Hagen; Heidi's friend, Andy Forcier; and one great-granddaughter, Mercedes Rose Forcier.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 31, 1 p.m., at the Big Sandy Lake Alliance Church with the Rev. Steve DeMars officiating. Renee DeMars was pianist.
Friends called at the McGregor Funeral Home Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers were Jack Hooper, Jeff Hooper, Jamie Hooper, Rusty Van Guilder, George Amundson, and Larry Bunge. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Twistol, Joe Wilson, Chuck Martin, Wayne Barton, Dan Warriner, and John Graus.
Arrangements were by the McGregor Funeral Home.
