Christopher A. "Cowboy" Hansen
Christopher A. "Cowboy" Hansen, age 34 of rural Glencoe, Bergen Township, died accidently Friday morning, June 30, 2000, in Young America Township, Carver County.
Christopher was born in Hutchinson Oct. 8, 1965, the son of Kenneth J. and Helen E. (Schmeling) Hansen.
After graduating from Litchfield High School in 1984, Christopher later attended Alexandria Technical Institute for two years, pursuing his education in tool and dye.
For the past 12 years, Christopher had been employed at Entegris in Chaska.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, belonged to the NRA, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved old cars.
Survivors include his fiancee, Heather Wright of rural Glencoe; children, Christopher and Morgan, both at home; parents, Kenneth and Helen Hansen of Litchfield; and brothers and sisters: James Hansen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Jean (Ron) Halvorson of Brainerd; Ann (Mark) Lien of Litchfield; John (Lori) Hansen of Coon Rapids; Robert (Kathy) Hansen of Watkins; Nancy (Dick) Bachmeier of Spring Lake Park; and Richard (Linda) Hansen of Monticello.
He is further survived by aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Lenora Hansen; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Elsie Schmeling Hoernemann; and by his maternal step-grandfather, E. Hoernemann.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, July 3, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, Carrie Knott was the organist, and Aaron Lien was the reader for the Mass.
Interment was at St. Columban Cemetery at Greenleaf, Meeker County.
James Hansen, John Hansen, Robert Hansen, Richard Hansen, Jim Effertz and Tom Weinzierl Jr. served as the casket bearers.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, on Sunday, July 2, from 4 to 8 p.m.; with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
