Roy Theodore Herrmann
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, for Roy Theodore Herrmann, age 91 of Minnetonka. Roy died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Fairview Southdale, Edina.
Roy was born Aug. 17, 1908, at Hollywood Township, Carver County, Minn., the son of Charles F. and Fredericka (Seemann) Herrmann. He was baptized Sept. 6, 1908, at St. John Lutheran Church, Hollywood Twp., by the Rev. Theodore Rolf; and confirmed at the same church April 9, 1922 by the Rev. W. L. Ernst.
On Nov. 21, 1934, Roy married Lorena A. Brandenburg at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Watertown Township, by the Rev. Karl Rudolph. Roy and Lorena were married for 65 years.
He worked very hard in farming and industry. Roy loved to do his part, serving on the school board at St. Peter's and St. Paul's Lutheran School. He also loved to sing in the church choir and enjoyed all kinds of music.
Roy enjoyed his stay in our midst, but is now in the arms of His Maker and Redeemer Heavenly Father.
Survivors include his wife Lorena; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Wallace Peterson of South Haven; grandchildren: David and Teresa Peterson, Timothy and Janelle Peterson, Merilee and Randy Ruby, Jan and Troy Nieuwsma, Nan and Gregory Widseth, and Cheryl and Chris Soderberg; and great-grandchildren, Nicolle and Eric Peterson, Heidi Peterson, Lori, Lacey, and John Ruby, Dakoda and Arayna Nieuwsma, and Brittany, Luke and Jake Widseth.
He is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet and Egon Banke of Anoka, and Dolores Hart of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Emma Brandenburg of Watertown, and Edna and Lloyd Brandenburg of Waconia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fredericka Herrmann; and brothers, Ralph and Elmer Herrmann.
Funeral services were from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Watertown, 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Paul D. Krentz officiating. Interment was in Watertown Public Cemetery. Roy's grandchildren were casket bearers.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
