Mary Elizabeth Hunz obituary, 3/31/2000


Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Hunz, age 72 of Norwood
Young America, were Tuesday, April 4, at All Saints Lutheran Church, Norwood
Young America. Mary went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday,
March 31, 2000.
Mary was born July 10, 1927, the daughter of August and
Irene (Mattson) Sirup.
Her determination and appreciation for life inspired all
who knew her. Mary enjoyed the company of family and friends, quilting,
gardening, and baking. She will be deeply missed by her family; her dear
friends, Mabel and Fritz Mahlstedt; and a special friend and caregiver,
Kris Panning.
In addition to the Mahlstedts and Panning, Mary is survived
by her children, Brenda Nelson (husband, Cliff) of Adams, N.D., Tim Mondor
(wife, Darlene) and Barb Templin (husband, Charlie), all of Norwood Young
America; Rick Olson (wife, Renee) of Valencia, Calif.; Pamela Olson of Victoria,
Connie Halvorson (husband, Jerry) of Bloomington, and Mary-Jo Sund (husband,
Larry) of Norwood Young America.
She is further survived by grandchildren: John Parent (wife,
Emily), Tara Nelson, Janelle Nelson, Michael Mondor, Tammy Meuffels, Nicholas
Sund, Courtney Sund, Sherri Ekren (husband, Billy), Heather Walker (husband,
Lorn), Michelle Luskey (husband, Peter), Charly Templin, Stephanie and Sara;
and Jordan Sund; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives
and friends.
The Revs. Eric Aune and Mel Foss officiated at the 11 a.m.
funeral service. The organist was Jane Fasching, and the congregational
hymn was “How Great Thou Art.” Soloist Bill Grundahl sang “I
Like To Tell The Story.” Interment was in the Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Visitation was the evening of Monday, April 3, at the Paul-McBride
Funeral Chapel, Norwood Young America.
Mary’s children were the casket bearers. Kris Panning was
honorary casket bearer.
The Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel, Norwood Young America,
handled the arrangements.
