Roy Ireland, age 59 of Winsted, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at his residence.
He was born July 27 1940, in Lowell, Mass.; the son of Arthur and Louise Roy Ireland.
On June 16, 1962, Roy married Sarah Hoar (Mrs. Ray Mortag) in Concord, N.H. God blessed their marriage with three children.
Roy lived in Elko, Nev. for over 20 years before moving to Winsted two and a half years ago. He liked living in the Winsted area and the people that lived there.
Roy owned and operated Precision Concrete & Sawing.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ireland and Katherine Ireland, both of Winsted; two grandchildren, James Carlson and Amanda Ireland of Winsted; and a brother, David (Dottie) Ireland of California.
Roy was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Ireland, in 1994.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, March 25, 3 p.m., at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, and Lavon Keilkucki provided special music for the Mass. Interment followed at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, with a prayer service at 1 p.m.
Roger Fiecke, Pat Radtke, Kevin Kubasch, David Ireland, Aaron Reeves and Gary Sterner served as casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
