Lawrence Christ Knott
Lawrence Christ Knott, age 77 of Winsted, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born in Hollywood Township, Carver County on Dec. 23,1921, the son of Christ and Martha Sterner Knott.
Lawrence engaged in dairy farming in Hollywood Township near New Germany for many years and moved into Winsted in 1976.
He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Lawrence also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #8253 and to Holy Trinity Court #1054 Catholic Order of Foresters.
Lawrence is survived by sisters and brothers: Mary Richter of Norwood/Young America, Norbert J. Knott of New Germany, Albert A. (Mary Kay) Knott of Winsted, and Odella (Marvin) Vollrath of Grand Rapids; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Knott of New Germany; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Esther Knott; a brother, Leander Knott; a brother-in-law, Francis Radtke; a sister-in-law, Orlyn Knott; and a brother-in-law, Frank Richter.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Aug. 4, 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Carrie Knott provided special music for the Mass and Rosalie Knott was the commentator. Amanda Weibel, Miles Radtke and Mitchel Radtke were the servers.
Tom Radtke, Mike Radtke, Randy Knott, Chris Knott, David Knott, Jerry Knott, Roger Knott and Jim Richter served as the casket bearers.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. A combined Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:45 p.m.Wednesday evening, Aug.4.
Arrangements were handled by the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
