Gail Laura Kohler
Gail Laura Kohler, age 47 of Watertown, died accidently on Friday, March 24, 2000, in Watertown Township.
Gail was born in Watertown Dec. 9, 1952, the daughter of E. Allen "Bud" and Laura Jaunich Hahn. She was baptized Dec. 21, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,Watertown, and confirmed April 19, 1964, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Delano, by the Rev. Gerald O'Keefe.
A 1971 graduate of Watertown High School, Gail also attended Anoka Ramsey Community College for two years.
On July 13, 1973, Gail was joined in holy marriage to Jeffrey Kohler at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church,Winsted. Their marriage was blessed with five children.
A faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Watertown, Gail was a CCD teacher and active in the Council of Catholic Women of her parish. Gail also belonged to the Watertown Chamber of Commerce.
She owned and operated Gail's Catering in Watertown since 1980.
Survivors include her husband Jeff; a son, Bradley Kohler of Winsted; three daughters: Molly Kohler, Kelly Kohler and Abby Kohler, all at home; her mother, Laura Hahn of Minnetonka; a brother, Greg (Judy) Hahn of Plymouth; and two sisters, Rebecca (Pat) Hahn-Ryan of Maple Grove and Mary (Mark) Wolschlag of Cary, N.C.
She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jennifer Kohler, Debbie Kohler, Donna (Doug) Kohler, all of Winsted, and Lori (David) Wroge of Lester Prairie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Gail was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Kohler, on Sept. 4, 1989; her father, "Bud' Hahn, on April 17, 1960; father-in-law, Leon, on Nov. 18, 1985; and mother-in-law, Glenna Kohler on Aug. 10, 1999.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, March 28, 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Watertown. The Rev. Frank J. Wampach was the celebrant, Bob Wills the cantor, and Beth Wills the organist/pianist. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Winsted.
Friends called at the church on Monday, March 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Brian Lenz, Tim Barth, Rob Meyer, Jason Bogema, Kevin O'Brien and Dick Norman served as casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
