Frank A. Kopecky

Funeral services for Frank A. Kopecky, age 89 of Mayer, were Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. He died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Auburn West, Waconia.

Frank was born April 22, 1910, at Sico, Ore., the son of Paul and Anna (Chrast) Kopecky. He was baptized and confirmed Dec. 2, 1932, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver Co., by the Rev. Victor Ostermann.

On June 9, 1935, Frank married Viola E. Hoernemann at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver Co., by Ostermann.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Anna; his brothers, Henry, Edward, Arthur and Walter Kopecky; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Caroline Hoernemann.

He is survived by his wife Viola; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Harold Latzig of Lester Prairie; sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Sandy Kopecky of Lino Lakes, Harold Kopecky and friend, Ann, of Minneapolis; and Donald and Rose Kopecky of McGregor; grandchildren: Bradley Kopecky, Randy and Peggy Kopecky, Shelly and Doug Jelinek, Johnny Kopecky, Tiffany Kopecky, Margaret and Clyde Buck, Linus Latzig, Gary Latzig, Lyle and Amy Latzig, Russell Kopecky, Scott Kopecky, Bryan Peterson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Frank is further survived by brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Lucille Kopecky of St. Paul; sister, Helen Hydra of Shakopee; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frederick and Edna Hoernemann of Waconia, Helen Koepp of Belle Plaine, and Evelyn Ziermann of California; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, with the Rev. Peter A. Meier officiating. Interment was at Bohemian National Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Casket bearers were Frank's grandchildren: Johnny Kopecky, Bradley Kopecky, Randy Kopecky, Shelly Jelinek, Linus Latzig, Gary Latzig, Lyle Latzig, and Margaret Buck.

Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
