Adeline Louise Kunkel
Funeral services for Adeline Louise Kunkel, 81, of Glencoe were held on Saturday, Jan. 15, from First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with the Rev. Harvey Kath officiating.
Mrs. Kunkel died on Jan. 12, 2000, at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
Organist was Dawn Wolter, and the congregation sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." The Ladies Choir sang "Nearer My God To Thee."
Pallbearers were Timothy Lueck, Daniel Lueck, Steven Lueck, David Hemmerick, Harold Hanson and Rick Kloth. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Adeline Louise Lueck was born on May 30, 1918 in Bergen Township, McLeod County, to Theodore F. and Louise (Thiel) Lueck. She was baptized on June 16, 1918, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, by the Rev. E. Kolbe and confirmed on March 20, 1932, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. J. Schert. Her education was at the parochial school in Lester Prairie.
On Dec. 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Albert Kunkel at the First Lutheran Church parsonage by the Rev. A. Streufert.
Mrs. Kunkel was a farm wife and homemaker for years. She enjoyed playing guitar, gardening, playing cards and animals.
Her husband, Albert, died in August 1973. Recently, Mrs. Kunkel has been a resident at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
Surviving are three brothers and one sister, Willmer Lueck of St. Louis Park, Alvin Lueck and wife, Joyce, Minneapolis, Verdella Demenge of Hutchinson and Willard Lueck and wife, Rose, of Hopkins; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Lueck; and four sisters, Esther Hildebrandt, Irene Brathovde, Lorraine Miller and Lillian Peterson.
The Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel of Glencoe handled arrangements.
