Stanley F. Larson
Funeral services for Stanley F. Larson, age 63 of rural Plato, were Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, from Bethel Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie. Stanley died in an auto accident Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, 1999.
Stanley was born May 26, 1936, in Glencoe, the son of Sander A. and Harriet F. (Hickman) Larson. He was baptized Oct. 18, 1936, by the Rev. C. Field at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Bergen Township, and confirmed at the same church April 14, 1951 by the Rev. L. Nelson. His education was in the Glencoe public school system.
On Oct. 13, 1957, Stanley was united in marriage to Aurelia E. Ehlers at St. John's Lutheran Church, Helen Township, by the Rev. W. Plocher. The couple operated a farm four miles north of Plato.
Stanley served as Bergen Township board supervisor since March 1997. After retiring from farming in 1984, he was employed for four years at Preferred Paving, then with Bebo Construction for three years, prior to beginning work with his current employer, Chard Tilling.
Stanley was also a hobby farmer, raising a few cattle, pigs, and most recently, sheep, which became his passion.
He is preceded in death by his father, Sander; and a daughter, Carla Larson.
Survivors include his wife Aurelia; three daughters and one son: Bonnie Hahn (husband Brad) of Glencoe, Amy Jo Larson of Covina, Calif.; RaNaye Hansen of Elk River, and Ron Larson of Lester Prairie; his mother, Harriet Larson of Glencoe; and six grandchildren: Brian Hahn (wife, Sue Ann), Brandon Hahn, Brent Hahn, Ashley Larson, William Larson, and Kelly Hansen.
He is further survived by a sister, Betty Exsted (husband, Don) of Glencoe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elford and Mabel Ehlers of Glencoe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ceil and Bob Aikala, Jan and Curt Bruesehoff, Jerome and Kathy Ehlers, Sharon and Frank Papke; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The Rev. Sherri Sandoz officiated at the 11 a.m. funeral services. The organist was Cheryl Jakobitz and the congregation sang "Amazing Grace," "On Eagle's Wings," and "Beautiful Savior." Sandoz and Carol Wortz sang a special duet of "In The Garden."
Casket bearers were Brian Hahn, Brandon Hahn, Brent Hahn, David Exsted, Collin Exsted, and Sue Ann Hahn. Honorary casket bearers were Ashley Larson, William Larson, and Kelly Hansen.
Visitation was Thursday evening at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel, Lester Prairie.
