Mabel E. Littfin
Mabel E. Littfin, age 82 of Winsted, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at the Glencoe Area Health Care Center.
Mabel was born in Malta, Mont., Sept. 1, 1917, the daughter of Herman and Mathilda (Adams) Lueck. She was baptized Oct. 14, 1917 in Alkali, Mont.
On April 23, 1947, Mabel was joined in holy marriage to Ralph Littfin at the rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. God blessed their marriage with a daughter, Sharon.
Mabel was formerly employed at Tonka Toys and the Green Giant Company.
She was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winsted.
Mabel enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading newspapers and magazines, and polka music.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon J. (Leonard) Ardolf of Lester Prairie; a sister-in-law, Mary Specken of Winsted; a step-brother, Herman Lueck; and other relatives and friends.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mathilda Lueck; a step-brother, Henry Lueck; and by her husband, Ralph L. Littfin on May 19, 1998.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 6, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Gerald L. Boldt officiating. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, on Wednesday, April 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Martha Christenson was the organist for the funeral service. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung as congregational hymns.
Jack Littfin, Jerome Littfin, Kenneth Knoop, Mike Specken, Tom Specken, and Donald Laxen served as the casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
