Grace Bell Lueck
Grace Bell Lueck, age 77 of Winsted, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
She was born in Barnesville, Minn. on July 11, 1922, the daughter of John and Luella (Henry) Bell.
Grace graduated from nurse's training at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, S.D. She was a long-time licensed practical nurse and through the years, served in hospitals and nursing homes in Detroit Lakes, Fargo and Winsted.
Grace has been a resident of Winsted since 1963.
On Oct. 22, 1966, Grace Bell was joined in holy marriage to Herbert F. Lueck at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Herbert preceded his wife in death on Sept. 23, 1979.
Grace was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. She also belonged to the Council of Catholic Women, the St. Anne's Society and was a volunteer for many years at St. Mary's Care Center.
She is survived by brothers: Paul Bell of Helena, Mont.; Terrance (Emma Lore) Bell of Greeleyville, S.C.; and John (Lillian) Bell of Moorhead; sisters: Cleopha (Harley) Kastet and Nellie Lightowler, both of Moorhead; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda Tesch of Watertown, Leona Latzig of New Germany and Wilmar Pawelk of Winsted; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Grace was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers: Carl, Harry, Percy, Alfred, Clifford, Stanley and Henry Bell; and by a sister, Louise McDonald.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Aug. 3, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Lavon Kielkucki provided special music for the Mass.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, Monday, Aug. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. A rosary was recited at 4:30 p.m. by the St. Anne's Society, followed by a prayer service in the chapel at 7:30 p.m.
Gary McDonald, David McDonald, James McDonald, DuWayne Latzig, Daniel Mahon and Ronald Glaseman served as the casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
