Reuben V. Luedke

Funeral services were Monday, March 22, 1999 for Reuben V. Luedke, age 90 of Hollywood Township, New Germany, Minn. Reuben died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Auburn West in Waconia, Minn.

Reuben was born Nov. 21, 1908 at Hollywood Township, Carver County, Minn., the son of Charles and Magdelen Noerenberg Luedke. He was baptized Dec. 13, 1908 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hollywood Township by the Rev. Theo. Rolf and confirmed there March 25, 1923 by the Rev. W. L. Ernst.

On June 5, 1934, Reuben married Verna L. Asmus at St. John Lutheran Church, Hollywood Township, by the Rev. Ernst.

Reuben was very active in church and civic affairs.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and the Rev. Donald Urbach of Glencoe; sons and daugher-in-law, Roger Luedke of Waconia, Sheldon Luedke of Spicer, and Donald and Carol Luedke of Mayer; grandchildren: Deborah, Rick and Louisa, Kristine and Tim, David and Jerolyn, Roger Jr. and Marina, Jeff, Craig and Joan, Brett and Tara; and great-grandchildren: Casey, Melissa, Jessica, Christa, Amber, Jason, Corinn, Benjamin, Joshua, Blair, Brooke, Michael and Shane.

He is further survived by a sister, Luella Hecksel of Winsted; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Doris Luedke of Winsted, Fred and Gladys Luedke of New Germany, Erna Luedke of Maple Plain, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Reuben was preceded in death by his wife, Verna; daughter, Ardelle Heller; parents, Charle and Magdelen Luedke; sister, Cordella Lemmerman; brother, Edwin Luedke; brothers in infancy, Herbert and Raymond Luedke; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl Lemmerman, Wallace Hecksel and Adeline Luedke.

Services were at 11 a.m. from St. John Lutheran Church, Hollywood Township, New Germany with the Rev. Ronald L. Mathison officiating. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in New Germany.

Casket bearers were Marlow Hecksel, Dennis Luedke, Harlan Hecksel, Orville Pawelk, Bob Schurmann, and James Hausladen.

Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
