Everett Carl Melinsky
Everett Carl Melinsky, age 83 of Buffalo, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at the Park View Care Center.
Everett was born Dec. 17, 1916, in Middleville Township, Wright County, the son of Charles and Clara (Ziedler) Melinsky.
He was baptized Jan. 28, 1917, by The Rev. Alfred Streufert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township. Everett was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith April 13, 1930, by the same. His confirmation memory verse was Revelations 3:11.
On May 12, 1946, Everett and Ella Koepke were joined in holy marriage at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. J. Klausmeier officiated at the wedding ceremony. Their marriage was blessed with two children.
Everett was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving as an elder, trustee and mission treasurer.
Through the years, he engaged in farming in Middleville Township and later, worked for Minnesota Rubber.
Everett was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Ella; his children, Audrey (Dennis) Bowles of Duluth, and Rod (Maureen) Melinsky of Sisseton, S.D.; grandchildren: Greg (Carey) Bowles of Becker, Jennifer (Michael) McPherson of Duluth, Denise Melinsky of Mapleton, and fiance Paul Einsenmenger; Nick Melinsky of Fairmont, and Heather Melinsky of Northrup; and great-grandchildren, Noah William McPherson and Frances Anne Bowles.
Everett is further survived by a sister, Frances (Herbert) Rowe of Grand Rapids; nephews, Michael (Susie) Rowe and sons, Scott and Charlie, all of Texas; and Jon (Christel) Rowe and daughters, Katie and Allison, all of Grand Rapids; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leona (Lester) Uecker and Erna and Henry Steenerson, all of Buffalo; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dale Melinsky.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 12, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, with the Rev. Leland D. Bendix officiating. Interment will follow at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Friends called from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.11, at the Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, with a prayer service at 8:15 p.m.
The organist was Ruth Goerke, and Diane Johnson was the soloist. Congregational hymns were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "Abide with Me," and "How Great Thou Art."
Honorary casket bearers were Denise Melinsky, Heather Melinsky and Jennifer McPherson.
Nick Melinsky, Paul Einsenmenger, Jon Rowe, Gene Uecker, Darrell Uecker, and Greg Bowles served as active casket bearers.
The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, served the family.
