Helen A. Mielke
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, for Helen A. Mielke, age 87 of New Germany. Helen died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
Helen was born Oct. 18, 1911, at Camden Township, Carver County, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Wilhelmina (Barlau) Ziermann. She was baptized Nov. 12, 1911 at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, by the Rev. F. W. Erthal and confirmed there by the same April 5, 1925.
On July 20, 1930, Helen married Ruben H. Mielke at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, by the Rev. Theodore Rolf.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben; daughter-in-law, Darlene Mielke; parents, Edward and Wilhelmina Ziermann; sister, Anna Groneke; and brothers, Otto, George, Elmer and Ervin Ziermann.
Helen is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marian Mielke of New Germany; grandchildren, Randall and Diane Mielke of Lester Prairie, and Scott and Sharon Iverson of Chanhassen; great-grandchildren, Matthew Mielke, Christen, Craig and Carrie Schrupp; seven step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by a sister, Ella Burandt of Chaska; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Ziermann of Watertown, Hilbert and Martha Ziermann of Mayer, and Evelyn Ziermann of Oakdale, Calif.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Melroy and LaVerna Mielke of Park Rapids, and Ortwin and Lorraine Mielke of Webster, Wis.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, with the Rev. Edwin Narr officiating. Interment was at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, New Germany.
Casket bearers were Richard Hall, Merlin Burandt, Roger Litfin, Marty Ziermann, Kenneth Earhart, and Curtis Ziermann.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
