Helen S. Mochinske
Helen S. Mochinske, age 88 of Winsted, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Burns Manor, Hutchinson.
Helen was born Nov. 11, 1910, in Hale Township, McLeod County, Minn., the daughter of Stanley S. and Stella (Kasprzyk) Mallak. She attended country school through the eighth grade at District 80, Hale Township, McLeod County.
On Sept. 1, 1931, Helen married George Mochinske at St. Adalbert Church, Silver Lake. George and Helen enjoyed 68 years of marriage.
Through the years, Helen was employed as a cook for Holy Trinity School, and also worked at Green Giant and the town bakery.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and gardening. Helen especially loved to cook for her family.
A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, Helen was also a member of the St. Anne's Society.
Survivors include her spouse George of Winsted; her son, Clarence; a sister, Louise Haekenkamp of Waverly; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Mahon; her parents; and a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Virginia Mallak.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Paul Wolf officiating. The organist was Lavon Kielkucki.
Pallbearers were Kevin Mahon, Steve Mahon, Paul Mahon, Mark Mahon, David Mochinski, Jim Mochinski, Robert Mochinski, Mike Mochinski, and Bob Mochinski. Interment was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Winsted.
The Maresh Funeral Home, Silver Lake, handled the arrangements.
