Elton Ernst Mueller
Elton Ernst Mueller, Col., USMC, Ret., age 81 of Oceanside, Calif., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999.
Elton (Bob, Shorty) served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Distinguished Flying Cross while in combat in the Solomen Islands during 1942-43. After 28 years of service to his country, Elton retired an officer in the Marine Corps.
During his retirement, Elton loved to play golf, tour the country in his motor home with his wife, and visit relatives and friends. He will be missed by his many friends and family members.
Elton was the beloved father of David Mueller of Alaska; Melvin Mueller of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Anita Bantle of Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 1992.
Survivors include his three children, a niece, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elton will be cremated and the ashes strewn at sea. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. may be made. Call 800-639-4WW2 for more information.
