Martha B. Pawlicki
Funeral services for Martha B. Pawlicki, 77, of Silver Lake were held Feb. 3 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, with the Rev. Robert Mraz officiating.
Mrs. Pawlicki died on Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 at the Glencoe Area Health Center.
Carol Weber was the commentator. Val Shamla was the organist, and the congregational songs were "How Great Thou Art," "Just a Closer Walk With Thee," "Prayer of St. Francis" and "On Eagles Wings."
The pallbearers were Aaron Boock, Mark Mickolochek, Chad Schwichtenberg, Chris Schwichtenberg, Derrick Weber and Loren Jilek. Interment was at St. Adalberts Cemetery.
The eucharistisc minister was Miriam Jilek, and the gift bearers were Kristen Boock, Carrie Schwichtenberg and Patty Mickolichek.
Martha Jilek was born May 6, 1921 in Silver Lake, Rich Valley Township, to Frank and Barbara (Ardolf) Jilek. She received her education at the Rich Valley Township District 51 School.
On June 18, 1940, she married Anthony Pawlicki at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Silver Lake. She was a farm wife and homemaker.
Mrs. Pawlicki enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, reading and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was involved in the Council of Catholic Women, Rosary Society and Catholic Workmen. She moved to Silver Lake on Oct. 14, 1984.
Surviving are her children, Luane Mickolichek and husband, Ron, of Silver Lake, Marlene Schwichtenberg and husband, Leon, of Bloomington, and Jean Booch and husband, Brad, of Glencoe; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Clara Jilek, Emma Lewendowski, Peggy Lewendowski and Elizabeth Pawlicki.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; grandson, Paul Mickolichek; and brother, Ernest Jilek.
The Maresh Funeral Chapel in Silver Lake handled arrangements.
