Clayton Marvin Perry obituary, 10/26/2000


Clayton Marvin Perry, age 74 of Howard Lake, died Thursday,
Oct. 26, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an arduous battle
with cancer.
Clayton was born June 30, 1926, in Winnebago, Minn., the
son of William and Selma (Kleinschmidt) Perry.
He attended rural Martin County Schools and graduated from
Granada High School in 1943.
Clayton served in the U. S. Army from 1944 to 1946, serving
in the Phillipine Islands.
After being discharged, he worked as a depot agent for
the Milwaukee Railroad for 20 years, and also as manager of the municipal
liquor store for 20 years.
Clayton married Marion Gieske in 1952, a union which produced
twin sons.
Clayton was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the
DAV, and the Mason Lodge.
At the time of his death, Clayton had reached the age of
74 years, three months, and 26 days.
He is survived by his wife Marion; mother, Selma; sons,
David (Janet), and Douglas; and grandchildren: Megan, Ryan, Jacob, and Justin.
Clayton was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m.,
at the Walker United Methodist Church, Howard Lake, with the Rev. Marvin
Repinski officiating. Music was provided by Mae Beth Wannarka and Bonnie
Seegmiller.
Military honors were conducted by the American Legion Post
145 following the service. Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery, Farimont,
Minn.
Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Inc. handled the arrangements.
