Alvin F. Plocher
Funeral services were Saturday, April 3, 1999, for Alvin F. Plocher, age 95 of Hollywood Township, Mayer. Alvin died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Alvin was born Sept. 30, 1903, at Hennepin County, Minn., the son of Ferdinand and Augusta Kowalke Plocher. He was baptized Oct. 10, 1903, at Lake Auburn Moravian Church in Victoria by the Rev. Albrecht, and confirmed by the same March 21, 1918.
On Nov. 2, 1927, Alvin married Hildegard H. Schumann at Zion Lutheran Church, Benton Township, Cologne by the Rev. Herman Amend.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Hildegard; grandson, Clarke Plocher; parents, Ferdinand and Augusta Plocher; brother, Raymond Plocher; sisters, Viola Williams and Harriet Shima; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Hattie Schumann; and brothers-in-law, Gilbert and William Schumann.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Lois Plocher of Watertown; grandchildren, Pamela Plocher, Phyllis and Carl Groebner, and Mark Plocher; great-grandchildren: Taylor Odom; Angela, David, Beth and Robert Groebner; and Justin and Cody Plocher; and great-great-grandchildren, Torianna and Noah.
He is further survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Esther Plocher of Hopkins; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, with the Revs. Peter A. Meier and Jeff Harter officiating. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
Casket bearers were Gilmore Schrupp, Chris Farniok, Keith Farniok, Henry Becker, David Becker, and Mike Farniok.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
