Anna C. Raether
Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, for Anna C. Raether, age 106, of Watertown. Anna died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Elim Home, Watertown.
Anna was born Jan. 31, 1893, at Young America Township, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Katherine (Trocke) Braun. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America; and confirmed at the same March 24, 1907, by the Rev. August Baumhoefener.
On Sept. 28, 1916, Anna married Fred Raether at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, by Baumhoefener.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Fred; sons, Karl and Milton; daughter, Hilda Young; parents, Carl and Katherine Braun; sisters, Alvina Lehrke and Emma Menzel; and brothers, Ernest and Fred Braun.
She is survived by her children: Corda Raether of St. Louis Park, Helen Leiter of Maple Grove, Ella Foulkrod of Lakeville, Gilbert Raether of Silver Lake, Mary Ann Raether of Springfield, Vernon and wife, Karen Raether of Mayer, and William Raether of Watertown; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Anna is further survived by a sister, Meta Luebke of Mayer; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, 3 p.m., with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Anna's grandchildren were the casket bearers.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
