Catherine Ann Richardson
Catherine Ann Richardson, age 57 of Buffalo, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital.
Catherine was born in New Orleans, La., on Feb. 5, 1942, the daughter of Clifford and Catherine McClellan-Young.
On Feb. 9, 1960, she was united to marriage to Dennis E. Richardson.
A domestic abuse advocate serving Wright and Sherburne counties for the last seven years, Catherine worked at the Rivers of Hope women's crisis intervention center in Buffalo for several years. She made a difference in the lives of hundreds of victims/survivors in our communities. Her kindness, compassion and determination will be sorely missed.
Catherine always lived life spontaneously and to the fullest. She spent many joyous moments with her husband, Denny, tending their garden, traveling together and enjoying each other's company.
She loved to bring the family together to make any occasion special. Catherine cherished the individual moments with each child and grandchild memories that were created especially for each one.
She is survived by her husband Dennis of Buffalo; sons, Joshua of Hopkins, and Shawn of Buffalo; and daughters, Kimberly (William) Gabby of Mound, and Kippi (James) Bednar of Marysville, Wis.
Catherine is further survived by granddaughters: Heather, Laurel and Holly Gabby, and Hannah, Jasmin and Leah Bednar; as well as siblings, William Young of Dayton, Wash., and Geri Cegieslki of Houston, Tex.
A memorial service was at the Buffalo Covenant Church on Tuesday, May 18, 1999, 1:30 p.m., for family and friends.
