Mary Lynn Schmakel

Mary Lynn Schmakel, age 37 of Watertown, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at her home in Watertown Township after a one-year struggle with cancer.

Mary Lynn was born April 19, 1962, at Waconia, Minn., the daughter of Donald and Charlotte (Hilgers) Pawelk. She was baptized and confirmed at Ascension Catholic Church, Norwood Young America.

On Sept. 28, 1996, Mary Lynn married Neil A. Schmakel.

Mary Lynn was a member of the Catholic Aid Society. She worked at Milltronics.

Survivors include her husband Neil; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Pawelk of Watertown, Andrew and Gina Schmakel of Hawaii, and Anthony Schmakel of Watertown; daughter, Abby Schmakel of Watertown; sisters and brother-in-law, Colleen and Gordon Loe of Lester Prairie, Linda Morre of St. Michael, Debra Jean Kruschke of Winsted; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeffrey and Sandy Pawelk of Maple Lake, Michael and Carol Pawelk of Cologne, Timothy and Cindy Pawelk of Cologne, and David Pawelk of Winsted.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Walter W. and Delores Schmakel of Waconia, Lois and Edgar Winckel of Waconia, Charles and Marlene Schmakel of Waconia, Kenneth and Alyce Schmakel of Waconia, Joanne and Donald Karels of Waconia, Vern and Wallace Dressel of Waconia, Dale and Karen Schmakel of Chaska, Sharon Pearson of St. Louis Park, Gary McPadden of St. Cloud, Larry Schmakel of Waconia, and LeRoy and Penny Schmakel of Waconia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Nov. 22, 10:30 a.m., at Ascension Catholic Church, Norwood Young America, with the Rev. Paul C. Ardolf officiating. Interment was in the Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Norwood Young America.

Casket bearers were Charles Schmakel, Mark Schmakel, Larry Schmakel, LeRoy Schmakel, Mike Loe, Chris Morre, Tom Pawelk, and Ken Pawelk.

Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
