Funeral services for Marian E. Schultz, age 57 of Lester
Prairie, were Thursday, May 27, 1999, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
in Lester Prairie.
Marian died Sunday, May 23, 1999.
Marian Edna Schultz was born the daughter of George and
Edna (Mielke) Weibel on Jan. 18, 1942 in Winsted, Minn.
She was baptized Aug. 31, 1942 at the Lutheran parsonage
in Hollywood, Minn. and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Winsted, April 3, 1955.
Marian attended and graduated from Howard Lake High School
in 1960.
On Sept. 2, 1961, Marian was united in marriage to Kendall
Schultz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted. Kendall and Marian lived
on the Schultz family farm, and this is where Marian lived her entire adult
life.
Marian enjoyed living on the farm and would garden, not
only vegetables, but beautiful flower gardens also. She would usually cook
and can enough of those vegetables so that everyone that stopped in would
be sent home with a healthy supply.
Marian also enjoyed going to baseball games and watching
famiy and friends play. Her greatest love was for her family, especially
her grandchildren.
Her love for them was shown every day, but that love was
shown the strongest at holiday time. She would decorate, cook, buy presents,
hide Easter eggs, and go out of her way to make sure everyone enjoyed the
holidays.
After being diagnosed with leukemia about one year ago,
Marian entered eternal rest from complications of the leukemia treatment
at Fairview Southdale Hospital, having reached the age of 57 years, four
months, and five days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Edna
Weibel.
Marian is survived by her husband Kendall of Lester Prairie;
children: Wade Schultz (wife, Amy), Kelli Machemehl (husband, Gregg), all
of Lester Prairie; and Jill Fiecke (husband, Marvin) of Winsted; and grandsons:
Taylor Schultz, Garrett Schultz, Benjamin Machemehl, Nicholas Machemehl,
and Trey Fiecke.
She is further survived by her father and mother-in-law,
Walter and Iris Schultz of Lester Prairie; brothers, Duane Weibel (wife,
Jane) of Waverly and Jerry Weibel (wife, Mary Lou) of Georgia; sisters,
Barbara Rosin (husband, Ken) of Gaylord, Donna Preston of Chaska, and Karen
Dallman (husband, Dick) of Chaska; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jennifer
Sebora (husband, Marc), Chris Schultz (wife, Amy), Chuck Schultz (wife,
Diane), Kathy Hoof (husband, Stan), all of Lester Prairie; and Gail Stuedemann
(husband, Jerry) of Gaylord; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins,
and friends.
The Rev. Gerald Schwanke officiated at the 11 a.m. funeral
service. The organist was Mary Mielke and the congregational hymns were
“Amazing Grace,” “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and
“How Great Thou Art.”
Visitation was Wednesday, May 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the
Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie with a prayer service at 7:30
p.m. Interment was in the Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers were Aaron Schultz, Cullen Schultz,
Brad Stuedemann, Ron Weibel, Randy Weibel, and Bruce Uecker.
