Floyd E. Schultz obituary, 7/11/2000


Floyd E. Schultz, age 90 of Winsted, died Tuesday, July
11, 2000, at St. Mary’s Care Center.
Floyd was born May 4, 1910 in Lester Prairie, the son of
Joseph and Clara (Villwock) Schultz.
He graduated from Lester Prairie High School in 1928.
On June 10, 1936, Floyd and Agnes Kohler were joined in
holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Wey officiated
at the wedding ceremony. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Floyd was employed by Mid America Dairyman, and retired
from there in 1973, following 40 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church,
Winsted, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8253.
Floyd was a former volunteer member of the Winsted Fire
Department. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and golfing.
Survivors include his children, Joan C. Schoen of New Hope,
Mary Jane (Jim) Zelenak of Brooklyn Park, Don J. (Joyce) Schultz, and Karen
A. Schultz, all of Winsted; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and
other relatives and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Agnes on Feb. 5,
2000; and by his sister, Alona Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, July 14, 5 p.m.,
at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the
celebrant and the organist was Lavon Kielkucki. Interment followed at Holy
Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called from 3 to 4:45 p.m. Friday, July 14, at
the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, and a Knights of Columbus Rosary was
recited at 3:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were David Schoen, Michael Schoen, Thomas
Zelenak, Paul Zelenak, Joseph Zelenak, Craig Schultz, and Brian Schultz.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
