Scott Leon Schultz, age 42 of Winsted, died accidently
Monday, July 5, 1999, near Maple Lake.
Scott was born in Glencoe on March 10, 1957, the son of
Victor H. and Eldoris H. (Litfin) Schultz.
He was baptized March 31, 1957, at St. Mark Lutheran Church
in New Germany. Scott was instructed in the Lutheran cathechism and confirmed
in the Christian faith on May 16, 1971, also at St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Scott graduated in 1975 from Watertown-Mayer High School.
He was employed by the city of Winsted since April of 1990.
Scott enjoyed fishing, hunting, karate and playing softball.
He is survived by his parents, Victor H. and Eldoris Schultz
of New Germany; sisters and brothers: Dorinda (Curtis) Brown of Sacramento,
Calif.; Brad (Vicki) Schultz of Mayer; Mardeen Schultz of Sacramento, Calif.;
Laurie (Dave) Trende of Mayer; Jerrol (Bonnie) Schultz of Waverly; and Julie
(John) Jopp of Watertown; and a brother-in-law, Jim Stender of New Germany.
Scott is further survived by his maternal grandmother,
Hilda Litfin of Winsted; nieces and nephews: Stacy, Angy and Jody; Holly,
Melissa and Emily; Chantal; Shannon, Sommer and Tyler; Cory and Leah; Jamison,
Jacqueline and Jordan; a special friend, Tena; aunts, uncles, cousins, many
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linnea Stender in
1998; maternal grandfather, Leonard Litfin, Sr.; and by paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schultz.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 8, 11 a.m., at St.
Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. Edwin Narr officiating.
Vernice Menth was the organist. “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”
and “How Great Thou Art” were sung as congregational hymns. Interment
followed at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted Wednesday,
July 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at the chapel at 7:30 p.m
Casket bearers were Cory Schultz, Jamison Jopp, Tyler Trende,
Holly Schultz Angy Stender and Jacqueline Jopp.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
