Erwin J. Sexton obituary, 6/14/2000


Erwin J. Sexton, age 75 of Winsted, died Wednesday, June
14, 2000, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Erwin was born in Watertown Nov. 2, 1924, the son of Clarence
and Catherine Keefe Sexton.
On Sept. 27,1952, Erwin and Delores Cochran were joined
in holy marriage at the rectory of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted.
God blessed their marriage with 12 children. Delores Sexton died accidentally
Oct. 27,1981.
Erv worked for Mid-America Dairymen in the cheesemaking
industry for 35 years. He retired in 1986 from Mid-Am.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted,
and belonged to the Holy Family Council #204.
Erwin is survived by his children: Phillip (Linda) Sexton
of Elk River, Craig (Donna) Sexton of Covington, La.; Allen (Julie) Sexton
of Maple Grove, Luke (Tina) Sexton of Corona, Calif.; Becky (Charlie) Hertzog
of Waverly, JoAnne (Jerry) Kockelman of Hutchinson, Julie (Mark) Hauger
of Glendora, Calif.; Laurie (John) Picek of Mankato, Terri (Paul) Hamilton
and Trudi (Eric) Porter, all of Delano; and Jackie (Ken) Zimmerman of Winsted;
20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by brothers and sisters, Delbert
Sexton of Howard Lake, Dolores C. Keefe and Eileen (Lauren) Pysick, all
of Watertown; Rita (Donald) Johnson of La Crosse, and Patricia (Dennis)
Neaton of Crystal; a sister-in-law, Ardis Sexton of Watertown; brothers-in-law,
sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Erwin was preceded in death by
a son, Dean on July 23, 1996; brothers, Marvin and Leo Sexton, a sister,
E. Lucille Sexton, and a brother-in-law, J. D. Keefe.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place at
11 a.m., Friday, June 16, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Revs.
Paul L. Wolf and Gerald E. Keefe officiating. Interment followed at the
church cemetery.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the
Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted. A Holy Family Council rosary was recited
at 4:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Erv’s 11 children.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
