Edmond P. Sherman obituary, 8/12/2000


Edmond P. Sherman, age 86 of Winsted and formerly of Hollywood
Township, Carver County, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at St. Mary’s Care
Center.
Edmond was born June 30, 1914, in Hollywood Township, Carver
County, the son of Martin and Mary (Flasch) Sherman.
He engaged in farming east of Winsted, in Hollywood Township,
for many years. He moved into the city of Winsted in 1986.
Edmond enjoyed fishing and was an avid card player.
He is survived by sisters: Esther Rivers of Wickenburg,
Ariz., Loretta Sherman of Winsted, and Fay Carlson of Watertown; and nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Edmond was preceded in death by his parents; a brother,
Richard Sherman; three sisters, Margaret Kallenbach, Bertha Hauwiller, and
Verna “Bub” Moy; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Mildred Hoaglund,
Mary Skoog, Madeline Cofer, Vernard Gilmer, Russell Gilmer and Gunella Fowler.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Aug. 16, 7 p.m.,
at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the
celebrant and Cheryl Tabbert was the soloist for the Mass. Interment followed
at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called from 4 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Chilson
Funeral Home in Winsted.
Casket bearers were Alan Moy, Jim Moy, Tom Hauwiller, Leon
Rivers, Jerry Gilmer and Don Gilmer.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
