Funeral services were Tuesday, May 18, 1999, for Hattie
A Stender, age 96 of New Germany, Minn. She died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at
Health Care Center, Delano, Minn.
Hattie was born Sept. 2, 1902, at Hollywood Township, Carver
County, Minn., the daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina Greisheimer Borchart.
She was baptized Oct. 5, 1902, at St. John Lutheran Church, Hollywood Township,
by the Rev. Theodore Rolf; and confirmed there June 4, 1916, by the Rev.
W. L. Ernst.
Hattie was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church
in Hollywood Township. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her
family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred H. Stender;
daughter, Lucille Stender; parents, Carl and Wilhelmina Borchart; brothers,
Arthur, Edward and Charles Borchart; sisters, Emma Strei and Elsie Jopp.
She is survived by a brother, Wallace Borchart of Eden
Prairie; niece; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church,
with the Rev. Ronald L. Mathison officiating. Interment was at St. John
Lutheran Cemetery, New Germany.
Casket bearers were Dale Johnson, John Eberle, Terry Jopp,
Norbert Hemmann, Loren Sifferath, John Borchart, and Jim Borchart.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
