Raymond M. Thiesen

Raymond M. Thiesen, age 73 of rural Winsted, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at the Glencoe Area Health Center.

Raymond was born near Delano on Nov. 18, 1925, the son of John and Mathilda Thiesen.

He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II.

On June 26, 1950, Raymond was joined in holy marriage to Loretta Fiecke at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with a son and a daughter.

Raymond engaged in dairy farming his entire life. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and also belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court #1054.

Survivors include his wife Loretta; his son, John; his daughter, Julie; all of Winsted; sisters, Dorothy Carlson of Buffalo, Grace Graham of Waverly, Helen Smith of New Ulm, and Ruth Morin of Maple Lake; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ervin; and sisters, Marie Thiesen and Elaine Pool.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, May 7, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with the Rev. Paul L. Wolf as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted on Thursday, May 6, from 4 to 9 p.m. An American Legion Ritual at 7:20 p.m. was followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary at 7:30 p.m., and a parish prayer service at 8 p.m.

Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the Mass.

Pat Graham, Bill Graham, Steven Rohling, Tom Fiecke, Steve Nowak and Stanley Horstmann served as the casket bearers.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
