Vera A. Vollrath
Vera A. Vollrath, age 69, of Waconia and formerly of the Mayer and New Germany area, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
Vera was born Jan. 8, 1931, at Camden Twp., Carver County, Minn., the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Kohls) Latzig. She was baptized at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. Theo Rolf; and confirmed March 25, 1945, at the same church by the Rev. John W. Meyer.
On Feb. 15, 1951, Vera married Alvin W. Vollrath at St. Mark Lutheran Church Parsonage, New Germany, by the Rev. Fred J. Pfotenhauer.
Vera was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Elaine Latzig of New Germany; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Verna and Elmer Barlau of Cologne, and Evelyn and Milton Vollrath of Mayer; nieces and nephews: David Latzig, Diane and Gary Hardel, James and Carol Barlau, Linda Thaemert, Lynette and Terry Rettig, Carol Barlau, John and Tamara Barlau, Steven Vollrath, and Brian Vollrath; great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; parents, Arthur and Anna Latzig; and stepmother, Mamie Latzig.
Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, with the Rev. Peter A. Meier officiating. Interment was at Crow River Cemetery, Camden Township, New Germany.
Lynette Rettig, Linda Thaemert, Rachel Latzig, Diane Hardel, Jim Barlau, David Latzig, John Barlau, and Paul Krueger served as casket bearers.
The Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia handled the arrangements.
