Lydia Washington, age 91 of Redding, Calif. and formerly of Waverly, passed away Monday, March 8, 1999, at Canyonwood Nursing Home following a prolonged illness.
Lydia was born Aug. 31, 1907 in Waverly, Minn. She moved to California in 1938 and married Bailey Washington in 1945. Following his death in 1979, Lydia moved to Redding, Calif. and lived with her sister, Alyce Boyd.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Louise Stoppelmann; sisters, Louella Wackler, Frances Wackler, and Sadie Carnahan; and a brother, Jack Stoppelmann.
She is survived by her sister, Alyce; brothers, Pat Stoppelmann of Orange, Calif. and Leo Stoppelmann of Cokato, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted by Mel Trotter of Trinity Lutheran Church, Redding, Calif.
