Michael Jeremiah Wood obituary, 10/12/2000


Michael Jeremiah Wood, age 56 of rural Lester Prairie,
died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at his residence.
Michael was born Jan. 22, 1944, in St. Paul, the son of
Leonard E. and Maude C. (Reilly) Wood.
On April 13, 1977, Michael and Diane Yttreness were joined
in holy marriage in St. Louis Park.
Michael engaged in dairy farming in Bergen Township, McLeod
County. He and his wife later established Integrity Tool in Lester Prairie.
Michael was a faithful member of Watertown Evangelical
Free Church. He was very involved with Bible quizzing for junior and senior
high youths. He was also a former member of the Crystal Evangelical Free
Church.
Michael enjoyed motorcycles and was a former member of
the “Road Saints.” He also formerly owned TTC Cycles in Hugo.
Michael enjoyed hockey and was a former youth hockey coach.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane; his children:
Dawn (Bryan) Schultis of Fort Collins, Colo.; Nicole (Steve) Powell of St.
Paul, Brian (Carlee) Reierson, and Brent (Barb) Reierson, all of Arlington;
Holly Wood of St. Paul, and Michael Jeremiah Wood II and Zechariah Wood,
both of Lester Prairie; and grandchildren: Sydney Schultis; Jakob and Sophia
Powell; Briana, Britany and Brice Reierson.
Michael is further survived by brothers, Leonard (Shirley)
Wood of Gladstone, Mo., and Frank (Mary) Wood of North St. Paul; a sister,
Margaret “Peggy” (Lyle) Stevermer of Little Canada; father-in-law
and mother-in-law, George and Dorothy Crane of Lakeville; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, John (Jerene) Yttreness of Detroit Lakes and Robert
(Marie) Yttreness of Lakeville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 16, 10:30 a.m., at Watertown
Evangelical Free Church with the Revs. Paul Kling and Greg Seeger officiating.
Interment followed at the Watertown Public Cemetery.
Special music was provided by “The Worship Team.”
Bob Benson was the soloist.
Congregational hymns were, “How Great Thou Art,”
“Lord I Lift Your Name on High,” “More Precious Than Silver,”
“When The Roll is Called Up Yonder,” “It Is Well With My
Soul,” and “Amazing Grace-How Sweet the Sound.”
Casket bearers were Frank Wood, Tony Langeslay, Paul Langeslay,
Richard Warec, Ryan Yttreness, Adam Yttreness, Joey Yttreness and David
Sauvageau.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
