Fredric C. Wuetherich, age 76 of rural Lester Prairie,
died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis.
Fred was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Plato, the son of Fred and
Dorothea (Dau) Wuetherich.
As a young man and prior to his marriage, Fred worked on
a farm near Bird Island.
On Dec. 17, 1949, Fred and Dorothy Ristow were joined in
holy marriage at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Lester Prairie.
God blessed their marriage with four children. Fred and Dorothy celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary this past December.
Through the years, Fred drove truck for several trucking
companies. He also had a garage and an oil company in Plato for several
years, was a former shop foreman and driver at Lester Building Systems,
and farmed for many years in Bergen Township, McLeod County.
Freddie was a former volunteer member of the Lester Prairie
Fire Department and presently, drove a test tractor for SMC in his own gravel
pit. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Fred was a faithful member of the Evangelical United Church
of Christ, Lester Prairie. He had served as a former member of the building
committee and the church council.
Frederic is survived by his wife Dorothy; children, Debra
(Dave) Kirby of Apple Valley, Kerry (Debbie) Wuetherich of New Auburn, Guy
(Holly) Wuetherich of Paradise, Utah and Brian Wuetherich of Lester Prairie
and special friend Teresa; grandchildren, Charity, Chelsey and Sherry Wuetherich;
Abby, Colton and Isabele Wuetherich; Taylor Schneewind and Morgan Wuetherich;
sisters, Stella Templin of Winsted, and Lydia (Marvin) Kruschke of Lester
Prairie; a brother-in-law, Melvin Kroells of Lester Prairie; and other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter,
Charlene Wuetherich; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Gladys Wuetherich;
a sister and brother-in-law, Alvina and Helmuth Fenske; a sister, Dorothy
Kroells; and a brother-in-law, Fritz Templin.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10,
at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Lester Prairie, with the Rev.
John Hogue officiating. Organist was Marie Eischens. Soloist Marvin Westermann
sang “The Old Rugged Cross.” Congregational hymns were “Softly
and Tenderly,” and “Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound.”
A private family interment followed at the Lester Prairie
City Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Wayne Templin, Bernie Bullert, Allen
Stender, Hilbert Hoof, Orville Elling and LeRoy Jungclaus.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
