Adeline Emilie Emma Zander
Adeline Emilie Emma Zander, age 84, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, Minn.
Adeline was born Feb. 19, 1915 in Howard Lake to William and Emma (Drawert) Birkholz. She was baptized March 21, 1915 at St. James Lutheran Church and also confirmed there March 24, 1929.
On March 12, 1955, Adeline was united in marriage to Ralph Emil Zander at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Melom.
Adeline enjoyed creating and sewing wonderful quilts for her family.
She is survived by her husband Ralph; six children: Darrell (Marge) Waldorf of Crystal, Donna (Robert) Carpenter of Coon Rapids, Gwen (Kenton) Corum of Portland, Ore.; Lerton (Lona) Zander of Long Prairie, Walter (Lynn) Zander of Salinas, Calif.; and Laura (Jerry) Latzig of Howard Lake; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Esther Edwards of St. Louis Park and Flossie (Lloyd) Peterson of Annandale.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, 2 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Rev. John Peterson officiating. Music was by Grant Judd and Bruce Gatz.
Casketbearers were Michael Carpenter, Bobby Carpenter, Steve Waldorf, Terry Waldorf, Christopher Zander, Jesse Corum, and Jeff Waldorf. Interment was in Howard Lake City Cemetery.
