Ada Lena Ottilie Zeidler
Ada Lena Ottilie Zeidler, age 87 of Howard Lake, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999.
Ada was born May 17, 1912, the daughter of Albert and Ottilie (Lorenz) Uecker in Albion Township, Wright County. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, June 16, 1912, and confirmed in her faith at the same church May 16, 1926, with the Rev. A. R. Struefert officiating.
On Oct. 23, 1932, Ada was united in marriage to Arthur Zeidler at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Kanning. This union was blessed with the birth of two children.
Ada and Art made their home and livelihood on the family farm north of Howard Lake, where they lived until retiring in 1966.
As a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Ada was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and crocheting.
For the past year and a half, Ada was a resident of Howard Lake Good Samaritan Care Center.
She is survived by her children: one son, Virgil Zeidler, and wife, Marie, of Howard Lake; and one daughter, Jeanette, and husband, Harold Schuettpelz, of Watertown.
Ada is further survived by 13 grandchildren: Diane and husband, Randall Mielke of Lester Prairie; Debbie and husband, Doug Bettcher of Mayer; Sandy and husband, Dale Exsted of Glencoe; Pat Larson of Bloomington; Scott Zeidler and wife, Kim of Howard Lake; Brad Zeidler and wife, Denise of New Brighton; Chris Zeidler of Howard Lake; Barry Schuettpelz and wife, Beth of Delano; Shar and husband, Tom Torkelson of Litchfield; Brent Schuettpelz and wife, Jeannie of New Germany; Shelli and husband, John Erickson of Atwater; Bryce Schuettpelz and wife, Kelli of Rice; and Brooks Schuettpelz of Watertown; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Ada is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ottilie Uecker; her husband Arthur; two brothers, Hubert Uecker and Hugo Uecker; and one sister, Sarah Campbell.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 10, 1999, at St. James Lutheran Church with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. The organist was Nancy Butterfass, with special music by the LWML. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ada's granddaughters: Diane Mielke, Debbie Bettcher, Sandy Exsted, Pat Larson, Shar Torkelson, and Shelli Erickson.
Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
