Audrey R. Zejdlik
Audrey R. Zejdlik, age 59 of Hutchinson, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Audrey Rita (Mallak) Zejdlik was born May 8, 1939, in Hale Township, McLeod County, Minn. She was the daughter of Dominic and Lucy (Mallak) Mallak.
She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Audrey graduated from the Silver Lake High School in 1957.
On Oct. 19, 1957, Audrey was united in marriage to Bernard Zejdlik at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Audrey and Bernie resided in the Silver Lake area for a year before moving to Hutchinson.
Retiring in October of 1995, Audrey held employment with Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in Hutchinson for nearly 35 years.
Audrey was a member of St. Anastasia Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, dancing, and gambling.
Audrey is survived by her husband Bernie of Hutchinson; mother, Lucy Mallak of Silver Lake; sisters, Shirley Fiecke of Winsted and Sandy Heuer and husband, Gary, of Silver Lake; brothers, Roger Mallak and wife, Joyce, and Glenn Mallak and wife, Judy, all of Silver Lake; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dominic Mallak; nephew, Richard Mallak; and brother-in-law, Marvin Fiecke.
Due to Holy Week, private family funeral services were Saturday, April 3, 1999 at 1 p.m. from the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment was in St. Anastasia Catholic Cemetery.
There was a memorial mass on Saturday, April 10, 1999, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with the Rev. Jim Devorak officiating. Organist was Bonnie Westmiller with song leader, Bobbi Cogley. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," and "Peace is Flowing Like a River."
Casket bearers were Lori Jorgenson, Lynn Mallak, Shelley Mallak, Lisa Jurek, Michael Fiecke, Jeffrey Mallak, Bruce Heuer, and Jeremy Heuer.
