Elroy G. Zellmann

Funeral services were Thursday, March 4, 1999 for Elroy G. Zellmann, age 85 of Waconia, formerly of New Germany. Elroy died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Good Samaritan Center, Waconia, Minn.

Elroy was born Feb. 13, 1914 at Camden Township, Carver County, Minn., the son of Fred and Theresa Lehrke Zellmann. He was baptized March 15, 1914 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, by the Rev. August Baumhoefner and confirmed there April 1, 1928, by the Rev. M. F. Abraham.

A World War II veteran, Elroy was a member of the New Germany American Legion Post.

He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Arles Zellmann of New Germany, Anna Mary Zellmann of Good Samaritan Center, Waconia and formerly of Norwood Young America; Margaret and husband, Walter Burau of Lester Prairie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Theresa Zellmann; sisters, Olga Zellmann, Clara Manske, Hilma Feltmann, Elsie Grimm, Theresa Karels, and Adeline Hafemann; and brothers, Fred, Otto, and Herman Zellmann.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, with the Rev. Scott Gustafson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Legion graveside services.

Casket bearers were Elroy's godchildren: Marlo Zellmann, Clarence Zellmann, Ronald Zellmann, Douglas Manske, Robert Berwald, Robert Lee Zellmann, and Daniel Zellmann.

Visitation was Thursday, March 4 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia, handled the arrangements.
