Lenora Marie Feltmann
Funeral services for Lenora Marie Feltmann, age 79 of Lester Prairie, were Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Ev. United Church of Christ, Lester Prairie. Lenora died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Glencoe Area Health Center.
Lenora was born the daughter of William and Hulda (Lillemo) Schilling Oct. 31, 1921, in Minnetrista Township, Minn. She was baptized Nov. 27, 1921, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Watertown, by the Rev. Beck; and confirmed at the same church March 25, 1934, by the Rev. K. Rudolph.
Lenora attended St. Peter's Parochial School through the eighth grade and then, graduated from Mound High School, Mound.
On Feb. 12, 1942, Lenora was united in marriage to George Feltmann at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The couple lived on several farms in the Hutchinson and Silver Lake area until moving to a farm in Lester Prairie in 1951.
George died in 1983, but Lenora continued to live on the farm until 1991 when she moved to Westwood Place, Watertown, and then, to the Glencoe Area Health Center in 1993.
Lenora was a member of the Bergen Ladies Homemaker group, and was active in the Women's Guild, as well as teaching Sunday school at the Ev. United Church of Christ, Lester Prairie.
During her life, Lenora enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, and fishing at their lake cabin. She especially loved playing games and just spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At the time of her death, Lenora had reached the age of 79 years, one month, and 19 days.
In addition to her husband George, Lenora was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Schilling.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Feltmann (wife, Annette), Eugene Feltmann (wife, Joann), all of Lester Prairie, and Heidi Wieman (husband, Allen) of Arlington; grandchildren: Peter Feltmann (wife, Christine), Patrick Feltmann, Sara Bauer (husband, Peter), Rick Feltmann, Tanya Tesch (husband, Scott), Mark Wieman, and Benjamin Wieman; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Tesch, Nathaniel Tesch, and Alyson Feltmann.
She is further survived by siblings, Ruben Schilling (wife, Lee) of Watertown, and Arleen Hoese (husband, James) of Mayer; a sister-in-law, Mabel Herzog (husband, William) of Minnetonka; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The Rev. John Hogue officiated at the 11 a.m. funeral services. The organist was Marie Eischens. Congregations hymns were "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee," "Amazing Grace," and "Joy To The World." Soloist Marvin Westermann sang "This is my Father's World." Interment was in Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers were Peter Feltmann, Patrick Feltmann, Sara Feltmann, Rick Feltmann, Tanya Tesch, Mark Wieman, and Benjamin Wieman.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 22, from 4-8 p.m., at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel, Lester Prairie.
