Robert J. "Bob" Bayerl
Robert J. "Bob" Bayerl, age 68, of Winsted, died June 19, 2001, at St. Mary's Care Center, Winsted.
Bob was born March 9, 1933, in Victor Township, Wright County, the son of Bernard "Ben" and Martha Linkowski Bayerl.
Bob honorable served his country in the US Army.
Robert J. "Bob" Bayerl was joined in holy marriage to Carolyn L. "Corkey" Long September 12, 1959, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. God blessed their marriage with two sons.
For over 30 years, Bob was associated with the Sterner Insurance Agency and the Midland Insurance Group as an insurance agent.
Bob was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #8253, VFW Post #9232, and American Legion Post #407.
Bob formerly served 24 years as a member of the Winsted Fire Department, and was also a former board member of St. Mary's Care Center.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn "Corkey" Bayerl, who passed away May 31, 1999; parents, "Ben" and Martha Bayerl; and brothers-in-law, Les Fryer and Ken Weber.
Bob is survived by his sons, Randy (Sue) Bayerl of St. Cloud and Daniel Bayerl of Hutchinson; grandsons, David and John Bayerl; sisters, Bernadine Weber of Annandale and Genevieve Fryer of Red Wing; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorraine (Max) Ferree of Grand Rapids, Peggy (Rick) Ahcan of Grand Rapids, and Alvan (Dolly) Long of Alameda, Calif.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial for Robert J. "Bob" Bayerl was conducted Friday, June 23, at noon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted.
The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant at Mass, and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, Thursday, June 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.
An American Legion Memorial Service was conducted at 7 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary. A parish prayer service was conducted at 7:30 Thursday evening.
Lavon Kielkucki provided special music for the Mass.
Randy Bayerl, Daniel Bayerl, Max Ferree, John Arnold, Rick Ahcan, and Steve Ahcan served as casketbearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
